Provincial bedrock geology map (MAP 600) published by the Alberta Geological Survey at 1:1,000,000 scale in 2013. Combines existing geological compilations with original field mapping, using three-dimensional subsurface models built from geophysical logs of oil and gas wells to project formation surfaces to bedrock elevation. Covers the Canadian Shield, Athabasca Basin, Rocky Mountains, Foothills, and Plains regions.

Surficial Geology of Alberta (MAP 601)

Provincial surficial geology map (MAP 601) published by the Alberta Geological Survey at 1:1,000,000 scale in 2013. A seamless mosaic compiled from 65 existing maps ranging from 1:50,000 to 1:500,000 scale, generalized using GeoScaler software and overlaid on a hill-shaded DEM. Contains 18,591 polygons classifying surface deposits by genesis type.

Sediment Thickness Map

Government of Alberta (via Alberta Geological Survey)

Regional drift isopach map derived from Map 227, published by the Alberta Geological Survey at 1:2,000,000 scale. Southern Alberta (49-56 N) was compiled from bedrock topography maps, while northern regions relied on borehole data and hydrogeological maps. Maps Quaternary and Neogene sediment thickness above bedrock in meters, with contour intervals varying by local data density.

Alberta Provincial DEM (25m)

Altalis / Government of Alberta

Alberta Provincial Digital Elevation Model (DEM) at 25-meter resolution, sourced from Altalis and the Government of Alberta. Provides continuous terrain elevation coverage across the entire province, with values ranging from approximately 162 m in the northeast plains to 3,700 m in the Rocky Mountains. Served as Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF tiles with automatic viewport-based rescaling.
