Water Well Information Database (WWID)

Government of Alberta

The Alberta Water Well Information Database (AWWID) contains drilling reports for over 500,000 licensed water wells across the province, maintained by the Government of Alberta and updated daily. Each record includes well depth, casing dimensions, drilling date, driller name, well use classification, well status, ground-level elevation, and location coordinates.

Base of Groundwater Protection

Government of Alberta

Aquifer vulnerability index dataset published by the Government of Alberta, assessing groundwater contamination risk across the province. The index evaluates depth to aquifer and the types of geological materials above each aquifer to determine vulnerability ratings -- shallower aquifers with permeable overlying materials receive higher scores than deeper formations protected by impervious layers.
